Publishing Operations Administrator

For an international scientific publisher we are looking for an administrative assistant. In this position you will have a lot of responsibility and you need to work very carefully with data. This is why we are looking for someone with experience in administration.

  • Highly organised– e.g. able to schedule multiple priorities, stick to deadlines and manage time sufficiently
  • Detail oriented

what will you do

As a Publishing Operations Administrator, you will provide administrative support to the Journals Editorial Office, in close consultation with the company’s Open Access Policies team. You are responsible for article processing charge (APC), and membership administration in strict adherence with policy instructions and timely customer service.
You are expected to develop a basic understanding of the peer review and publication process, and to provide expert customer service to internal teams and external contacts concerning waivers and membership administration.

  • Respond to author requests for discounts on APCs
  • With the Commercial and Publishing teams, set up discount codes and assist with memberships, as required
  • Maintain documentation about discount codes and the discount process more widely
  • Provide monthly reports on discounts granted and denied
